Brisbane Vintage Fashion & Decor Fair....

What an utterly wonderful time it was attending Brisbane's Vintage Fashion and Decor Fair. There was just so much to look at even old classic card, which always make me smile.

We popped by Kittys Vintage Kitsch stall and finally got to meet Celia and had a look at all their beautiful vintage treasures.

Honestly the whole fair was heaven and there were racks upon racks upon racks of vintage goodness to go through. Something for every vintage loving heart.

How freaking rock star is this jacket above, the vendor also had a second one teamed with a puffy yellow tulle skirt. The night before we attended, she said she had sold a navy coloured one with zip off tails....now I would of like to of seen that.

Sarah and I enjoyed a nice lunch with Celia which of course involved vintage chatter. After lunch we continued on and I found my spending mojo and started parting with some cash. I met some lovely fair goers throughout the day as well as blogging friends and Celia. It was nice to be in the company of like minded vintage lovers.

I'm rather chuffed to say that I only gave myself a fifty dollar budget for the fair and out of that came the ten dollar entry fee. I bought five items and still came home with five dollars. I did miss seem some final stall as Sarah was getting grizzly.

From Left to Right ::
  • Apron $2...which I fully intend on wearing as a top during summer, with a singlet underneath.
  • A cool pair of high waisted pants for $5.
  • Vintage Japanese made dress $15.
  • Sweet short sleeve floral dress. $10
  • Red and blue polka dot maxi dress $5.
There is so much more I could have bought, but a gal got to stick to her budget.

Decorating with Family History with Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce Vintage Advertising.....

To all my fellow vintage and op shopping loving friends please keep your eyes peeled for me!

Our visit with my ever so gorgeous Nanna on the weekend has revealed something rather interesting in our family history.

Worcestershire sauce you say? It's been established that my family on my Nanna's side are part of the Lea & Perrins family by marriage. Ben and I like to add little touches here and there throughout our home that pay homage to our families histories and upbringings.

So if you happen to stumble upon some Lee & Perrins treasures in your adventures please consider letting me know.

Holding Onto Sentimental Vintage Things.....

After a very rainy and stormy start to our morning Ben, I and kids headed off to Brisbane to see my Nanna. As some of you may know my Nanna's youngest child who is only four years older than me, passed away last month. It's been a long month for my family as her death came in the form of a fatal car accident, so none of us were expecting it.

We knew that Nanna would be lonely with my Pop going about his Saturday rituals, so we wanted keep her company and give her some comfort.

My Nanna had mentioned to me that in the last several years my Aunt had been a mad keen thrifter and had been purchasing items with intention selling her finds. So Nanna invited me to have a look through some of the stuff she had of my Aunt's at the house today. Nan was happy for me to take what I wanted as she knows what I do and how I love all things old. She knows I will appreciate the pieces or find others who will.

This is just a few of special items I put aside for myself today. But I am feeling sentimental about the whole process in as much as that, clearly my Aunt and I shared a similar love and these are items she handpicked herself, for a dream she was possibly trying to create in the form of a venture for herself.

Pictured ::
  • Vintage crop hobnail knit short sleeve cardigan.
  • The floral skirt is high waisted with butterflies buzzing among the flowers.
  • Vintage Italian leather and silk lined gloves with flat bow detail they are a perfect fit.
  • Vintage Amy Ross Italian leather shoes, they are beyond cool and never worn.
I'm caught up with such an array of emotions and nostalgia by all of this and my visit with my Nanna.

Mummy and Me Vintage Clothing and Style....

There are few things that are better than mother and daughter wearing vintage and loving each other up, is there?

Wearing  :: I have on a vintage cotton top I bought off eBay years ago, it is one of my most favorite pieces in my wardrobe, it sees a lot of action in summer and it'll be one of those pieces I will wear until it's final days. The top is paired with a pair of Sportsgirl skinny leg jeans that were in a bag of hand me downs a friend gave me to have a look through. But the funny thing is, I actually realised said jeans were a pair I had passed on to her some time ago, so they're now back with me.

Sarah Wears ::  Hand me down jeans with sweet denim ankle frills, her top is a little handmade vintage number made from and old tea towel.
