My Fabulous Finds, are in the kitchen.....

What vintage loving, crockery loving girl doesn't like some pretty plates for their mismatched collection?

Yep you just can't beat 50cents a piece.
Yep just because it's a pretty pattern (top left). Yep it's green it's floral, need I explain anymore (top right). Yep that's a Staffordshire Ironware plate (bottom).

What's been your most awesome 50cent (or equivalent) find in recent times?

  1. Beautiful plates Trudie. No so much a vintage find but a Star Wars Millenium Falcon space ship for my son from the local op shop for $2. He's starting to get into Star Wars and I believe these things are highly collectable. It had "as is" next to the price but its in perfect condition, or he thinks so. (His Dad loves it too.)

  2. They are awesome!!!! You and I so have the same taste in prints.

I haven't had many 50 cent finds, but while we were on holiday last month I nipped out 'to get milk from the supermarket' (not my fault the supermarket was just next to an oppy that I spotted when we arrived...) and I found a cute pair of bathers for my little one for 50 cents.

    1. Of course it can't be helped if there is an op shop next door to any location you're running an errand. Scores for the kiddies for 50 cents are always a treat.

    1. No I don't think one can ever leave 50 cent Johnson's behind, surely there is some op shoppers law against that.

  4. Love that brown patterned one, looks similar to a Hornsea Coffee set I once owned (another op shop find in the early 1980s--sadly given away last house move). I still have a home full of china, so don't worry, and I do pick up the odd piece even tho I've run out of room. Love good Op Shop finds, I can't pass an Oppy without looking in.

  8. Love Love Love all of those plates! Hmmm I don't know that I have a 50c story of late, but I do have a $1 story - does that count? I posted about my vintage QEII Australia visit cup find which I splurged on for $25...but unfortunately my poor Mama smashed it while washing up... She was devo, I was devo, but oh well, sh*t happens. So then I was at my local oppie the other day and came across another vintage QEII cup hidden amongst some bargain cups...for a whole $1 YAY ME! haha xx
