I've been blogging for six years this year and whether you've connected with me here or way back in the early days on my original blog, you would know by now that I'm a dreamer, always with a plan in my heart to live my joyfully through my passions and interests.
There has been a lot of good happening around these parts with me taking things offline for the last two months. I've enjoyed getting my passions aligned with my dreams away from the online buzz and to be in a position to come back and share what has been happening. So I have put together a bit of a doing, creating and news type post to fill you in.
DOING :: If you're on Facebook or Instagram, you may have seen that we had our best vintage/antiques fair yet trading at Collectorville Fair in early May. It was the first time I've been able to have another set of hands helping me for a whole day at a fair, and I sure do need the help at Collectorville, because I always get super busy. Having Ben join me for the day was incredibly helpful and allowed me to help others.
Thanks once again to all those who popped by on the day I hope your treasures are settling nicely into their new forever homes.
CREATING :: So much creating has been happening in various forms in the last two months. Life is full of change, growth and learning at present and I love it!!!! For starters I've been writing and not hitting publish because I've been working quietly on one of several book projects offline that I have had floating around.
I have also been indulging in crafty gatherings with creative minds whilst I experiment with and learn new crafts, from those who possess multiple talents and big dreams. I love crazy big thinkers.
Change doesn't stop there and if you haven't heard a quick mention here or there from me elsewhere, we are moving and will be migrating My Vintage Childhood over to Wordpress soon. So please keep and eye out for updates, there are lots of little tweaks and changes that need to take place before the official change over, but I will be sure to keep you all informed along the way.
NEWS :: On May 25th I had a some readers contact me about my absence from the blog and wondered if I was okay, because as many of you are aware on May 25th each year I share a memorial post for our pre-term identical twin girls Elle and Meg. My decision not to post an annual memorial post was a positive and intentional one and not connected to my recent time away from the blog. I'm in a really good place and I made the decision not to post because my personal journey and self-discoveries are evolving and I felt that the private space to float my ponderings and decisions around to be of better service to me at this time.
You see, I started blogging six years ago now to help me through my grief journey in a hopes of sharing my story about finding bliss in my life after loss and trauma. In the eight years since losing our girls and the six years of that time I've been sharing online I have certainly found peace in my passions. Which brings me to something I want to share with you all, and is set to have my journey take on another exciting extension.
In a sweet twist of irony on May 25th I made the the step to officially enroll into a Professional Styling Course, something I have been considering for quite some time.
Come October things are set to get even more interesting around here both on line and offline. I am so excited to be taking on this new journey that will be an addition to what I already do. You will certainly be hearing more about what I'm up to as time goes on, but right now I'm excited about some experimental styling sessions I'm doing with willing friends and acquaintances.
Helping others find their own unique style that resonates with their personality and brings it forth to the surface, is something I really want to help others with. There is so much more in time I want to be able to do to help others through unique self expression, that I'm only at very start of it all.
I'm finding so much joy being in this phase of change and growth where things naturally unravel and seem right to move forward with. So as I continue to piece things together through this process I will be popping in here and there on the blog amid the tweaking and preparation to move the blog and I hope as always that you're happy to take the ride with me here or on my other social media platforms that we connect on.
